Album | Splendom
Artist | Bensnburner
Location | Germany
One exciting artist to check out right now is Bensnburner who took a good part of last year to complete his new album, Splendom. The album is conceptualized from the experiences of a bass player born in the eighties. With generational perspective intact, he presents a boldly unique interpretation of jazz. Influenced by the likes of Miles Davis, Flying Lotus, Portishead and Krautrock, here’s a sense of what went into the making of the album:
The whole thing was built within the last year and was mainly produced in my flat in Freiburg, Germany. The concept: I pre-produced the tracks and invited several high talented musicians who then (except for a few distance-related exceptions) had 3 takes available to jam with me and to leave their mark on the album.Mixing and mastering took Victor Bullok (whose doom metal band Triptykon last year were headliners at the Wacken Metal Festival).
